Dr. Rick Rigsby

One of the things he talked about that really struck me was the fact that today's society is more result oriented than goal oriented. I know it sounds the same but believe me it's not. Result oriented is when you just do something because it has to be done while goal oriented is achieving a purpose and acquiring wisdom. The keyword is wisdom. Case and point, college. Before, people go to college to learn. Today, people go to college to get a degree, See the difference?
Wisdom is earned and is often always coming from unexpected sources. If one learns not to dicriminate another, think of all the ideas that can be exchanged between two people. But being human, it's in our nature to fear change... the unexpected. How we deal with that, defines our character.
Today's society is all about 'Me'. Respect, kindness, and obedience are three traits that are fast becomming extinct. If we don't impart this 'wisdom' to the kids today, what will they teach their next generation when they get to be us?
If you have to do something, do it right.
