Shark Meat and Charcoals

Just because charcoals look black doesn't mean they're not hot. I made that mistake today. I was out in the backyard early this evening preparing the grill when I touched the charcoal on the side of the burning heap to move it closer to the fire. It was an oppps moment and I should have known better but the charcoal I'm talking about didn't even looked chaffed or affected by the fire in any way. It was just sitting there and me being myself, I just reached out to move it.

I ended up with a small ice in my hand the whole time. At least it wasn't that bad. Just the tip of my pointing finger. And there's no sign of any blister at all. At least not yet anyway. I'm sure there's going to be one coming out soon but I'm keeping the faith that everything will be okay when I wake up tomorrow.

I grilled shark meat tonight. This was part of the catch I had last time I went deep sea fishing. My very first shark meat and probably my last one too. Too bad I still have about 10 pounds of it in the freezer. Maybe if I change my mind later on I'll try it again. I have always thought that shark meat would end up tasting just like any other fish meat. I guess I was wrong.

It tasted like rubber. I did soak it with milk for about 3 hours. They said that would enhance the taste. I didn't wrap it with bacon when I grilled it though. I just wanted real fish. Maybe I should have wrapped it. But after taking my first bite, it was like cutting a piece of half-cooked beef. At least beef tasted better.

Maybe it's just the thought that this shark may have taken a bite off a person.

All Things Bright and Beautiful

by: Cecil Frances Alexander

All things bright and beautiful,All creatures great and small,All things wise and wonderful,The Lord God made them all.
Each little flower that opens,Each little bird that sings,He made their glowing colors,He made their tiny wings.
The purple-headed mountain,The river running by,The sunset, and the morning,That brightens up the sky;
The cold wind in the winter,The pleasant summer sun,The ripe fruits in the garden,He made them every one.
He gave us eyes to see them,And lips that we might tell,How great is God Almighty,Who has made all things well.

Runescape - It All Starts In Lumbridge

Lumbridge or Lumby, as what most players call this place, is the place where it all begins. Technically anyway. A new player always starts at the Training Island and when they are ready to join the game world, this is where they will show up. A word of caution for new players, try to be patient and utilize all the training experience you can get while on the Training Island. It's safer over there. Try to build your experience points to at least a combat level 7 before you leave. That would be enough to at least defend yourself from level 5 goblins or muggers.

Lumby is also where those who died in Runescape go back to. Dying in Runescape comes in different flavors. A player can die in two categories - a. fighting other players in the wilderness or wildy and b. fighting game characters. One thing to note is that if a player attacks another player first in the wildy, the said player gets a skull on top of their heads to mark that they are people killers. This mark will stay for some time and will just go away after awhile. If a player gets this mark and dies, that said player will lose everything they have on their inventory excluding banked items. And they show up in Lumbridge with nothing on except their basic clothes they started the game with.

If a player dies in the game without the skull, they retain the three highest value items they have on their inventory outside of the already banked items. They also show up in Lumby wearing their basic clothes. It's always a good practice to bank items as one plays and try not to carry unnecessary items in your current inventory. That will give the player some fall back plan in case they lose things.

It's also wise not to attack another player first in the Wildy if you are not prepared to lose your current inventory. Unless the said player is only defending himself. A player that gets attacked first in the Wilderness and fights back on the player that attacked will not get the skull mark. That means the player will retain the 3 highest valued items in his current inventory if he dies.

Play safe.
